Done

I heard a song recently and one of the lines said, “I may not know what God is doing, but I know what He has already done.” This line struck me like lightning that night and I have pondered it off and on in the weeks since. As humans, we are often disappointed. Things don’t always work out as we had hoped. People don’t always live up to our expectations. Uncertainty can stack on disappoint and cause us to feel frustrated and discouraged.

Spring has a way of renewing our Hope. Cold fades to warm and brown fades to green and purple and pink. Sunshine outside, however, does not always mean that everything in your life is suddenly understood and calm and easy. What a great season to be reminded that God has already proven Himself to be faithful. We can trust what He is doing even if our view of it is foggy.

Could there be any greater expression of God’s amazingly perfectly endless grace to us than the assurance that while we have no clue what He is up to in this moment; we have absolute certainty that He has already claimed the victory and every thread of His eternal plan is for our good and His glory.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.”

(Romans 16:25-27 ESV)
