"Confidence"

With the craziness that has become our day to day lives in recent years, it is easy to lose confidence in things, people, and current realities. When the world around us becomes unstable everything seems uncertain. We have seen this first hand with the pandemic. The unknown has caused many to fear and has driven them to cling to temporal ideas for a sense of hope and safety in turbulent times.

As everyone has scrambled to find their own version of “normal”, descension has arisen between those who have fled to different “camps” for relief from the unknown. It seems we have moved from fearing to feuding as people begin to take a stand against anything that would challenge the life raft of choice.

To some extent, I guess that is really the point. God allows the craziness to remind us that only He is constant, only He is capable, only He is true sanity. During times when it is easy to lack confidence, it is good to be reminded that we are actually to remain or abide in confidence, but our confidence must be in Christ alone. Psalm 27:13-14 says, “I will remain confident in this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

We pray that God will continue to hold each of you and remind you daily to remain confident in Him alone so that you will see His goodness and faithfulness as you wait on Him.
