Ministry Highlight: H.O.P.E. Foundation

Overman & Parks, CPAs, PA

The H.O.P.E. Foundation was created in November 2010 by Rebekah Brown as a labor of love for the Rocky Mount community. The H.O.P.E. Foundation serves as one of the only respite services in the surrounding area. Respite services are volunteer-based programs that provide temporary care for children with special needs, enabling assistance for the full-time caregiver. The program is unique in that its main focus is to, not only create a space for the children that is safe, fun, and warm, but to also gift the caregivers with free time allowing for their own personal success and productivity.

Meetings take place on the first Saturday of every month at Englewood Presbyterian Church. A typical day at the H.O.P.E. Foundation would include the children participating in arts & crafts, music, and physical education. Currently, the H.O.P.E. Foundation is proudly supporting over 35 families.

In addition to their monthly meetings, they also offer a week of camp each summer for students to participate in daily activities. They seek sponsors to underwrite each day’s events and provide lunch. Our office had the pleasure of being a part of this super fun group this past summer.
